Devalia Safari Park
( Gir Interpretation Zone )
Devalia Safari Park also referred as Gir Interpretation Zone – Devalia, is a Nature reserve in Gir National Park & Wildlife Sanctuary. Located 13 kms from Sasan, it comprises of 412 ha chain link fenced area carved out as a distinct eco-tourism zone which provides whole wildlife experience to tourists and reduces the overload of tourists from Gir National Park. It provides easy sighting of Asiatic lion and other wild animals of Gir, within a short time span and at cheaper charges.

Asiatic lions, Leopards, Blue Bull, Sambhar, Chital, Jackal, Black buck, Wild Boar, mongoose etc. The presence of Savana habitat and other flora is also another attraction of the area. Many rare birds including Peafowl and vultures are common in the Devalia.
Spotting a lion is guaranteed here because some 15-20 lions (approx.) roam around freely in this cordoned area. You can actually skip it if you had a good sighting during jeep safari as safari here will be on a bus but given that you have to be patient to spot a lion inside the national park itself, you may consider using this (the Interpretation Zone) as a backup if sighting lions in National Park was not fulfilled.
